Breaking: Penguins Round 2 Playoff Schedule, Game 1 Announced

Published

on

The NHL (finally) announced late Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals will begin their Round 2 series Thursday at the Capital One Center in Washington D.C at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network.

The NHL will announce the remainder of the schedule after the Boston Bruins-Toronto Maple Leafs conclude their Round 1 series, tomorrow night.

This is the third straight year the Penguins will begin Round 2 on the road against the Capitals. The Penguins held a 3-1 after four games last season but were pushed to Game 7 by the Capitals. The Penguins shut out the Capitals 2-0, including 29 saves by Marc-Andre Fleury, to advance to the Eastern Conference Final. The Penguins have won nine of the 10 playoff series between the teams.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now will provide full coverage of the Round 2 series.
