Pens Trim Roster Ahead of Preseason Home Opener

This evening, the Penguins and GM Jim Rutherford announced that they have re-assigned eight players ahead of tonight’s preseason game versus the Detroit Red Wings at Consol Arena.

Today’s cuts include forwards Tom Kostopoulos, Ryan Haggerty, Reid Gardiner, Gage Quinney; defensemen Dylan Zink and Jeff Taylor; and goaltender Sean Maguire who were re-assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Forward Jordy Bellerive, who tallied a hat trick during the Pens Prospect tournament in Buffalo, was been returned to his junior club, the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League.

According to the announcement, the Penguins currently have 47 players remaining in camp.
