In photos which are sure to make angry Pittsburgh sports fans for whom Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan and Steelers boss Mike Tomlin have become targets even angrier, Sullivan made a visit to the first day of Steelers minicamp. Sullivan was photographed by SteelersNow.com reporter having a chat with Steelers GM Kevin Colbert and Pittsburgh fans can only imagine what the pair talked about it.

Colbert is a noted hockey fan and was if not still is a Penguins season ticket holder. Do you think they chatted about Phil Kessel?

The Steelers began a three-day minicamp at their Southside practice facility and it will be the last team workouts before training camp begins next month at Chuck Noll field on St. Vincent’s University campus.

From our partner Alan Saunders of Steelers Hockey Now:

“We’ve got very fluent relationships with our local partners, man,” Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said. “Those guys, we have a lot of respect for them. We glean and learn from them. They learn from us. A lot of mutual respect. Why wouldn’t you listen and learn from those guys? They’ve had a lot of success in their space, particularly of late.”

Surely they compared notes on dealing with troublesome superstars, yes? Perhaps traded a few cliches, as well. We’ll know for certain if next season Sullivan uncorks, “The standard is the standard,” or “We don’t live in our fears. We live in our hopes.”

Tomlin has often been spotted at Penguins games, though Sullivan is from Boston and potentially a New England Patriots fan. Perhaps he was put through security twice, just in case.
