After a week off, the Big Picture makes its heralded return on the Pittsburgh Hockey Now podcast network.

I led off the show with a discussion on how the Patric Hörnqvist and Derick Brassard moves enhance the intensity of the Penguins’ championship window, which should be Jim Rutherford‘s focus above all else.

For the second segment (14:00), I welcomed Robert Morris junior and College Hockey America defender of the year Kirsten Welsh to talk about the Colonials’ repeat league regular-season title and their NCAA tournament dreams. The nationally-ranked RMU women are in Buffalo this weekend to defend their CHA postseason crown.

I closed the show (29:00) with a tribute to the golden Team USA women and the joy of watching Olympic hockey:
