LOS ANGELES — From Mike Sullivan to Lars Eller and Bryan Rust, the Pittsburgh Penguins admitted they did not play their best game Thursday. However, the team did enough, including a shorthanded goal by Eller, and Rust scored both a waved off goal in OT and the one that counted.

Rust scored the OT winner, and the Penguins beat the LA Kings 4-3 at Crypto.com Arena

It’s the five-minute Penguins postgame with Dan Kingerski from the arena in Los Angeles. Dan breaks down the game, what the Penguins did well enough, and the mistakes they keep making.

“We were committed to defending hard throughout the game, but I think as the game went on, we got a little bit better at getting out with possession, getting some screen time and getting some looks on the rush or kept the puck going. It wasn’t great, but I felt like we got a little bit better

There is one maddening mistake, and Dan gets into the reasons, too.
