Pittsburgh Penguins Boko Imama Fights, Scores

The Pittsburgh Penguins are playing out the string, but that doesn’t mean the players are any less engaged. Shortly after the opening puck drop, Pittsburgh Penguins tough guy Boko Imama squared up with Columbus Blue Jackets heavy hitter Mathieu Olivier.

While the fight didn’t have a clear winner, the fans and the teams on the ice enjoyed the extended scrap.

However, that wasn’t the end of Imama’s night. The bruising 28-year-old, 6-foot-1, 220-pound forward also flashed his hands in a different way.

In the middle of the second period, Imama scored just his second career NHL goal and his first since his four-game debut with the Arizona Coyotes in 2021-22.

Penguins’ center Kevin Hayes won the faceoff and made a beeline for the net. Danton Heinen delivered a buttery little pass to Imama in the left circle, and Imama whipped it past Columbus goalie Elvis Merzlikins.

The goal gave the Penguins a 4-2 lead in the second period. Sidney Crosby later scored the Penguins’ fifth marker for a 5-2 lead and a potentially lethal dagger in Columbus’ playoff chances.
