While Pittsburgh Penguins fans recover from their Jack Johnson buyout party, the rest of the NHL trade talks and free agent rumblings hit the hyperdrive. Connor McDavid tested positive for COVID-19, Arizona is in a stalemate with defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson who will not expand his no-trade-list, Flyers D-man Matt Niskanen retired, and Minnesota completed the Devan Dubnyk-Ryan Donato trade.

Something tells me that Rutherford would make a move for a better Conor Sheary in Tyler Johnson. At least his size is what Pittsburgh covets , a 3 rd line small offensive center . 5 million / year? Don’t count Rutherford out he could move a salary , he’s in desperation mode and this makes zero sense. that’s why it could happen!
