Montreal Canadiens fans were not happy with the Canadiens’ trade which sent Alex Galchenyuk to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Max Domi. Really, really not happy. Canadiens Twitter went into epic meltdown mode. Fan support in Montreal in unwavering and intense but they also know their hockey. Fans in Montreal have the ability to force organizational moves, whether the team is ready to make the move, or not.

Consider Bergevin’s seat red hot after the Domi-Galchenyuk trade. First, the professionals–Stu Cowan of The Montreal Gazette didn’t take a positive view of the deal. (Montreal Gazette)

And here is a recap of fan comments and sentiments (Post Millenial). If you missed Pittsburgh Hockey Now’s report on the Penguins offer for Domi, read it here (Pittsburgh Hockey Now)

Scuttle I’ve heard, but nothing more than a rumor:

There are rumblings out of Philadelphia that Nick Foles could start…oh wait (but I can’t wait for a QB controversy in Pittsburgh. No town does it quite as well as here) back to the Flyers. There are a lot of folks who think the Flyers could use their two first round picks to jump into the top 10 to snare one of the gifted right-handed defensemen.

By the way, word around the league is Montreal is looking for a center in return for Max Pacioretty. I’ll just let you chew on those possibilities. You can always sound off on the brand new PHN Extra forums, Arm Chair GM section. –membership required.

Wait… Montreal fans are angry over a trade involving a star player?

But on a serious note, when was the last time you remember seeing Habs fans happy over a trade over the past few seasons?

Jeff Petry is the only one which springs immediately to mind. Otherwise–looking at Bergevin’s trade list, I can see why.
