Dan’s Daily Links: Sam Bennett Available, Flyers After Toffoli
Welcome to your daily dose of hockey headlines, NHL trade rumors, and whatever else we find interesting. The Pittsburgh Penguins were outclassed against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night. The Calgary Flames trade deadline needs may have changed with the injury to Mark Giordano. There’s growing chatter in the NHL trade rumors that Philadelphia is getting serious about acquiring Tyler Toffoli, and Ottawa goalie Craig Anderson could be on the move.

Sources say the Boston Bruins are NOT trading Torey Krug (Boston Hockey Now)
The Ottawa Senators are likely to trade goalie Craig Anderson. Interestingly, one of the reasons Ottawa could let him go is 2016 Penguins second-round pick Filip Gustavsson, who was named the AHL goalie of the month for January. (Sportsnet)
The Penguins sent Gustavsson to Ottawa as part of the Derrick Brassard deal, but I shan’t bring up bad memories.
More NHL Trade Rumors: My little hockey chat circle has wanted Sam Bennett for a couple of years. The Calgary Flames may make him available as they attempt to deal with the injury to Giordano, who had a lower-body MRI (hamstring) this week. (TSN)
Bennett has often been saddled with fourth-line duty in Calgary. The pesky forward with hands may need a change of scenery.
Daren Dreger also wondered aloud about Jack Eichel’s future in Buffalo. Things are getting ugly in Buffalo (OK, things are always ugly up there), and there is growing concern Eichel might ask to be traded. Via Spector’s Hockey, (Kukla’s Korner)
