Pittsburgh Penguins trade rumors Kasperi Kapanen

The free agent look period is almost over. Monday, all hell will break loose, so have the popcorn ready. The big names made the rounds this week and may squeeze in another team but will otherwise use the weekend to process all of the information, talk to their people and families, maybe compare housing markets and schools, then make a multi-year leap with tens of millions of dollars. The Pittsburgh Penguins will not make a splash Monday and do not figure to sign anyone of note but their Eastern Conference competition likely will.

There is significant interest in Edmonton Oilers youngster Jesse Puljujarvi (Edmonton Journal)

Sure teams are calling but if GM Ken Holland holds to his high price tag, Puljujarvi will languish for a while longer. Of course, that may be the intent–to keep him around.

No one is talking about Gustav Nyquist. Not even San Jose. Perhaps a few more teams should. (Yahoo Sports)

The Washington Capitals successful bottom-six might lose another key member. Brett Connolly is looking to get paid. (Oilers Now)
