Erik Gudbranson teaches Brian Dumoulin to Fight

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Erik Gudbranson laughed when PHN asked if he would start a school. Wednesday after practice, defenseman Brian Dumoulin grabbed Gudbranson, literally and figuratively.

Gudbranson is one of the last heavyweights left in the NHL. Few players bother to challenge the hard-knuckled Gudbranson. Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson did once and hasn’t done so again.

Dumoulin is the stay-at-home presence on the Penguins top defensive pairing. He’s also 6-foot-4, 207 pounds. Dumoulin isn’t necessarily a rough defenseman but he does have the size and strength to handle himself or others on the ice. So, he went to one of the best.
