Wife Says Malkin Never Leaving, But She’d Like Him to Star Elsewhere

Pittsburgh Penguins star center Evgeni Malkin has been infamously snubbed from the NHL Top 100 list, and his hockey career arguably resides in the shadow of Sidney Crosby. Malkin is one of the best in the NHL but doesn’t always get the credit which doesn’t sit well with his wife, Anna Kasterova.
Kasterova, who is a former Russian TV personality, gave a long interview to Sports-Express-RU. It should be noted that while many Russian tabloids can be unreliable, Sports-Express is a credentialed entity at all Pittsburgh Penguins homes games.
Some of the answers may appear controversial, but PHN would like to caution regarding the difference in Russian media and culture. The interview was done in Russian. Often answers read worse than they are, especially in translation.
Kasterova was asked about Russian great Sergei Federov, who left the Detroit Red Wings to be the No. 1 center in Anaheim and if Malkin would ever do the same. She acknowledged her wishes that Malkin becomes the top center elsewhere, but also made clear Malkin will not leave Pittsburgh.
