Evgeni Malkin Goes Through an On-Ice Workout

CRANBERRY — Injured Penguins center Evgeni Malkin had a 40-minute on-ice workout at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex ahead of the full-team practice.



Malkin has missed the past three games because of an unspecified lower-body injury suffered nine days ago in Seattle.

He is their second-line center and is the No. 5 scorer on the team this season, with nine goals and 25 assists in 47 games.

Malkin took part in the Penguins’ optional game-day skate Saturday, but did not participate in the regular practice session today.

Coach Mike Sullivan said after the session that Malkin’s “status hasn’t changed.”
