Lars Eller, Pittsburgh Penguins

EDMONTON, Alberta — Several different linemates and the same results. Pittsburgh Hockey Now spoke to several linemates and got the same answers about Pittsburgh Penguins center Lars Eller.

This season, Eller has been arguably the most consistent and most productive Penguins forward. While others have more points, such as Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, many on the team are also well into the minus territory.

Eller is not.

In fact, only three Penguins are in the black, a few are even, and the vast majority are in the red, and in some cases, deep in the red. While the answers we got about Eller on the ice may have been a coach’s dream, we also dove deeper into Eller’s contributions beyond the scoresheet and were a bit surprised.

No one on the team takes losses harder. Eller is known to sit in his locker stall for an extended time after each game. Following the shootout loss to the Calgary Flames, Eller used only six words to answer two questions and did so in a tone more befitting a Game 7 loss.

Without breaking into the Full House theme song, teammates repeated one word over and over when we asked about Eller.
