Murashov Ready for Penguins Closeup; Gushes Over Malkin (+)
CRANBERRY — Before departing for Buffalo to participate in the Prospects Challenge at the Harbor Center, the Pittsburgh Penguins put their prospects team through a nearly two-hour practice at the Lemieux UPMC Complex. The practice didn’t accomplish much except installing some basic breakout systems and familiarizing the rostered players with each other.
But for Penguins prospect goalie Sergie Murashov, it was another opportunity to get on the ice with many of his soon-to-be teammates with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and a chance to meet one of his idols, Evgeni Malkin.
Make no mistake, when asked if he had a chance to meet Malkin since arriving in the United States from Russia, his affirmative was obvious. The goalie couldn’t hide his star-struck reaction.
