CRANBERRY — The Cody Glass and Philip Tomasino revenge game is at hand. Both current Pittsburgh Penguins forwards are former Nashville Predators who spent a couple of years trying to establish permanent residence.

Both were cast aside by general manager Barry Trotz.

Sure, there are nicer ways to phrase it, but the reality is the Penguins got Tomasino for merely the 2027 fourth-rounder, which they acquired by trading depth defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to the New York Rangers. Trotz paid the Penguins a third-rounder to take Glass and his $2.5 million salary.

So, the Penguins gave up a 2027 fourth but received Glass, Tomasino, and a third-round pick. That’s a good haul for the Penguins.

For his part, Glass has been through a first game against former teammates before. He played against the Vegas Golden Knights, the team that made him their first-ever draft pick, sixth overall in the 2017 NHL Draft.

Will he hit harder or softer against old friends?
