NHL Betting: Conn Smythe Winner and Juicy Promos
The Edmonton Oilers stayed alive in the Stanley Cup Final on Tuesday night with a 5-3 road victory over the Florida Panthers. Ahead of Game 6 at 8 p.m. this Friday at Rogers Place, the Conn Smythe Winner sports betting markets are wide open.
What was a sure shot in this market less than a week ago (Florida G Sergei Bobrovsky), isn’t so sure now. Game 5 may have been the marquee game of Oilers’ C Connor McDavid’s career. McDavid netted two goals and added two helpers in a must-win game.
McDavid is now the favorite to win the Conn Smythe trophy with -160 odds, but is he the best bet?
Sergei Bobrovsky +625
Bobrovsky hasn’t been great these last two games, allowing nine goals while facing 40 shots. Recency bias aside, Bob was almost perfect throughout the 2024 postseason.
The Florida goaltender posted a 2.07 goals against average and a .918 save percentage before Game 4.
A stellar performance with a Panthers victory in the next two games will likely get him the award. At +600, this is a classic “buy low” bet.
New customers at BetMGM Sportsbook receive up to $1,500 in bonus bets should their first bet lose.
Matthew Tkachuk +5000
Florida Panthers LW Matthew Tkachuk leads all Florida Panthers with 22 postseason points. C Alexander Barkov’s magnificent two-way play and Bobrovksy’s Ken Dryden impression get all the headline attention, but Tkachuk is a blood-and-guts Canadian power forward.
If Florida wins the series, there’s a chance that Bobrovsky, Alexander Barkov, and Connor McDavid will split the Conn Smythe voting, leaving a lane for the 50 to 1 Tkachuk.
Some Game 6 and 7 heroics could push him over the top in the minds of Conn Smythe voters.

Connor McDavid -160
Players won’t get a better number than this in the Conn Smythe betting market.
If you believe Edmonton can defeat the Florida Panthers, you should bet on Connor McDavid now.
McDavid leads the postseason in scoring with 42 points. He broke Wayne Gretzky’s playoff assists record, surpassing the Great One’s 31 in 1987.
And when his team needed him the most, Connor delivered. With Canada’s Stanley Cup hopes hanging by a thread these past two games, he’s scored three goals and five assists.
Connor McDavid to win the Conn Smythe is a lock should the Edmonton Oilers win the Stanley Cup.
He may win the award even if the Oilers lose. McDavid is within striking distance of Gretzky’s 1985 total of 47 points. He will likely pass Pittsburgh Penguins legend Mario Lemieux’s 1991 41 points.
