NHL trade rumors surround Brock Boeser, Pittsburgh Penguins scrutiny

When will the Vancouver Canucks’ fire sale begin? We looked at available options on the NHL trade block for the Pittsburgh Penguins. The St. Louis Blues are trying to avoid a sell-off, while it seems the Jakob Chychrun deal could happen sooner than later. The San Jose Sharks are taking a look at the New York Islanders. On the ice, the Philadelphia Flyers did the Penguins a solid. Montreal looks at P.K. Subban’s legacy and the Colorado Avalanche are getting frustrated.

It seems like every team is frustrated, then surging, then losing, then reeling off big winning streaks. This NHL season is unlike anything I’ve seen. Even the Flyers are surging and beating good teams.

The salary-cap disaster, combined with big streaks, is going to make for a wild or a boring NHL trade deadline. There won’t be a middle ground. Some team(s) will win big but sacrifice an unhealthy chunk of its future.
