Dan’s Daily: Metro Teams Interested in J.T. Miller, Kessel Rips Coyotes

Pittsburgh Penguins. NHL trade, J.T. Miller, Vancouver Canucks

In late August, finding hockey news can be like getting your hand stuck in the Pringles can. This year is a little different, as the volume of news is a bit better. The NHL trade chatter around J.T. Miller has cooled, but our colleague Rob Simpson reports two Metro Division GMs are still trying to find the right combination for a deal. Phil Kessel had a parting shot for the Arizona Coyotes and their culture. We rolled out the new Pittsburgh Penguins prospect list, which has interesting implications for next summer.

Full marks if you get the movie reference above. A little word of advice, my friend. Sometimes, you have to let those hard-to-reach chips go.

Only a couple of weekends left in summer. Use them well! I’ll see ya up North. For you fellow wanderers, there’s a little town about 15 miles outside of Oil City and Titusville called Tionesta. It’s about an hour and 45 minutes from Pittsburgh if you take the highways. There’s not even a main street in Tionesta, but there’s a kayak rental spot, and a makeshift town square. They laid down gravel and lined up 10 sheds to house small local businesses, including Happy Cow BBQ and Broken Straw Winery. There’s even a little bakery. Get the fritos on your pulled pork and have some Mello Ello (a shockingly good white wine that has CBD). Maybe get yourself a Bigfoot T-shirt. You’re welcome.
