Based on reports, the Penguins could seek a center as part of the return for Brassard. Dan also looks at the potential centers from each team, including two from Dallas which could come back to the Penguins as part of a deal.

In addition to Dallas, reporters have confirmed the Penguins division rival Columbus Blue Jackets have called. Past suitors have included the Colorado Avalanche and Winnipeg Jets, but there have been mixed signals regarding continued interest from those teams.

Dan also drops an unconfirmed team which lines up too well and multiple second-hand sources have mentioned could be interested.

Jesse Marshall of The Athletic made an article that pretty much said the Penguins should trade for something other than a 3rd line center, noting that Riley Sheahan can man the spot, or something along those lines.

NO to Spezza and any Stall!!! I think Faksa would be great now and for future but do not see Dallas giving him up. If they do not give up Faksa, then no trade. I say demand a high return from Columbus like a 1st plus. Trade 1st plus Addison for Muzzin and Clifford. Trade Maatta for Kapanen. Go all in on Ferland. I would even trade away Kessel for picks and prospects. This team needs to go all in plus Clifford, Muzzin, Ferland and Kapanen helps long term.

Drc72 this is why jr us gm and not you. His trades have landed 2 cups. 81 and 3 are going no where this year.

Won’t be the first time Jesse and I disagree! It’s a valid point. Some in the Penguins share it. I want to see Sheahan get another crack at 3c with Kessel before any Brassard trade because Sheahan to 3c is a risk. He didn’t drive enough offense last year.

Dan great stuff thank you for the hockey fix and what other teams might be the pens trade partners. I think Eric Staal Staal would make the best fit he does everything Sully likes and cost friendly, I do like Ferland a lot in more youthful and some term. Faska would be good too. I do think Eric Staal chemistry wise would fit very nicely from a players point of view and coaches and heck even JRGM view.
