Penguins Opening Night Lines and Defense Pairings

UPDATED OCT. 3 — The Pittsburgh Penguins lines and defensive pairings are ready for opening night. Thursday, the Penguins will begin their first season since 2015 without a banner raising or the Stanley Cup.
Daniel Sprong also appears on track to be ready for opening night, despite suffering a lower body injury last Wednesday. Sprong figures to embark on his first extended stay in the NHL in his three-year professional career. He will do so on the Penguins fourth line, in a low-pressure, high reward spot with linemates Matt Cullen and Riley Sheahan.
Brian Dumoulin skated Wednesday and appears ready to play, Thursday.
