Penguins Injuries Piling Up; Tomasino, Lizotte Latest Out

CRANBERRY — The Pittsburgh Penguins will be without Philip Tomasino Tuesday when they face the Chicago Blackhawks at PPG Paints Arena.
At the morning skate, coach Mike Sullivan said Tomasino is out with a concussion.
In 48 games with the Penguins this season, Tomasino has 10 goals and 10 assists, but he has only one goal and three assists in his last 16 games. The Penguins have just four games remaining, including Tuesday.
Tomasino, 23, will be a restricted free agent with arbitration rights after the season.
The Penguins are dealing with several other injuries, too.
**Center Blake Lizotte is out day-to-day with an unspecified injury.
Lizotte, 27, recently scored his 10th goal of the season, the third time in his career he’s reached double digits.
**Defenseman P.O Joseph remains out. However, Sullivan reported that Joseph skated again Tuesday. Joseph has not yet joined the team in any capacity.
**Also, Tommy Novak, who was acquired from the Nashville Predators near the NHL trade deadline, remains out and off the ice. Novak was originally reported to be day-to-day, but the Penguins have recently confirmed the injury hasn’t healed as expected.
Novak played only two games with the Penguins after the trade.
Not to worry, we have plenty of 4th line players to pick up the slack. :^)
