Penguins Postgame: Slamming Another Unacceptable Loss

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Some teams want a dangerous reputation with comeback wins. The Pittsburgh Penguins have become the opposite.

For the second time in six days, with re-entry into the Stanley Cup Playoffs available for the taking, the once formidable champions marked a third period lead return-to-sender with giveaways, lackadaisical defense and what can only be described as a fear of success in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

There were no shortage of culprits but we circled a couple of big-name misses on Thursday. It was a rough night defenseman Kris Letang, whom Blue Jackets forward Kirill Marchenko burned a couple of times, including on a game-changing third period goal just nine seconds after the Penguins claimed their 3-1 lead.
