Penguins Practice: Jarry on Ice; Crosby, Malkin on Separate Lines

Goaltender Tristan Jarry, as expected, was back at practice Sunday with the Pittsburgh Penguins at the UMPC Lemieux Sports Complex after completing a conditioning loan to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.

For the time being at least, that meant having three goalies at practice, along with Alex Nedejkovic and Joel Blomqvist. Interestingly, Blomqvist had his own net, while Jarry and Nedeljkovic took turns in the other net.

Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin skated on separate lines after being on the top line together most of the past six games, along with Rickard Rakell. Coach Mike Sullivan separated Crosby and Malkin in the later stages of Friday’s win in Washington.

Sunday, Malkin was back to centering the second line with Michael Bunting and Bryan Rust, while Crosby — who is two goals shy of 600 for his career — skated with Drew O’Connor and Rakell. In their six games together, Crosby had five goals, nine points, and Malkin had two goals, four points.

Forward Kevin Hayes, who has an upper body injury and missed the past two games, and forward Cody Glass, who is on IR because of an upper-body injury, did not practice.

The Penguins host the Dallas Stars on Monday.
