Hockey is back. Finally. Pittsburgh Hockey Now will cover the Pittsburgh Penguins Prospects Challenge against the New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres all weekend. Follow along for analysis, scouting reports, and our first hockey of the season as the Penguins face the Boston Bruins’ prospect team.

There are several players fighting for increased exposure and a chance to stick around in training camp. Here are the top three storylines.

We’ll be paying special attention to the Penguins top prospects, Sam Poulin, Nathan Legare, Calen Addison, and Pierre-Olivier Joseph. Emil Larmi will get some special attention, too. The Penguins figure to be far more competitive this year. They were run out of the building last season and two of the three games weren’t competitive.

We’ll update the blog every five minutes as able. We won’t be doing play by play. Consider it color analysis of the notable prospects.
