Penguins Recall Joseph Blandisi
The Pittsburgh Penguins added more depth Friday afternoon when they recalled the forward nicknamed “the blender,” Joseph Blandisi from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.
The Penguins have recalled Blandisi three times this season and he has played nine games. In the NHL, Blandisi has two points, including the game-tying goal against the Minnesota Wild on Oct. 12.

The Markham, Ontario native has skated in 10 games for the WBS Penguins this season, recording six points (3G-3A). In the WBS 6-2 win on Wednesday night against Lehigh Valley, Blandisi notched two points (1G-1A).
Blandisi has played in parts of four seasons in the NHL, compiling 28 points (9G-19A) in 89 games while hitting career highs during his rookie season in 2015-16 with New Jersey in games played (41), goals (5), assists (12) and points (17).
In parts of four seasons in the AHL with Albany, San Diego, Binghamton and WBS, Blandisi has totaled 126 points (45G-81A) in 168 games while also being named an AHL All-Star in ’16-17 while with Albany.
Tonight, Pittsburgh begins its sixth set of back-to-back games with a matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
