Calgary has been carried offensively by two players to this point in the season. Of the 21 goals they have scored so far, 14 have come off the stick of either Andrew Mangiapane or Elias Lindholm.

While those two are off to great starts, they can’t be expected to carry the team’s water game in and game out. Eventually, some of the other Flames are going to have to get on the scoresheet more consistently.

Gaudreau has been effective, although quietly. He has eight points in six games, but all eight are assists. Look for Johnny Hockey to finally find the back of the net, especially going up a backup goalie in DeSmith.

This just shapes up as one of those matchups where one team is out of energy from all their and the other is bitter coming off a bad performance in front of their fand.
