Tomasino Injured; Koppanen Back In

CHICAGO — Philip Tomasino played sparingly in the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 5-3 win over the Dallas Stars Saturday.

Sunday, coach Mike Sullivan announced the winger suffered an upper-body injury and would not play Sunday when the team faces the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center.

Tomasino, 23, has 10 goals and 10 assists in 48 games this season. He will be a restricted free agent with arbitration rights following the season.

Joona Koppanen, who has been with the team on an emergency recall basis, will draw into the lineup as the 12th healthy forward.

Koppanen, 27, has one goal in six NHL games this season.
