CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa — It seems a long time ago. Perhaps it was. Michel Therrien was the Pittsburgh Penguins head coach and guided them to the 2008 Stanley Cup Final. The Penguins core were still young players and Sidney Crosby was still the youngest captain to ever win the Stanley Cup when he hoisted it the following year.
Therrien was not the coach then. However, he guided the group from December 2005 into the 2008-09 season. He knows what makes them special and tells a great little story to prove it.
