PHN Postgame: Praising Jarry, Letang, Matheson on Sid’s Big Night

The storyline coming into Saturday was Sidney Crosby’s 1,000th NHL game, but a handful of teammates also stood tall by the end of the night, as the Pittsburgh Penguins downed the New York Islanders, 3-2 at PPG Paints Arena.

Hunter Hodies of Locked On Penguins and this very website was my guest for a Sid-centric edition of Pittsburgh Postgame, once again brought to you by Pittsburgh Sports Live.

Beyond Crosby, we had plenty positive to say about Kris Letang, Tristan Jarry and Mike Matheson, while also wondering about P.O Joseph’s dropoff and Kasperi Kapanen’s late-game demotion.

Hunter and I also laid out what’s left for Crosby and Co. to accomplish in the latter years of his career, and he made his predictions for how the rest of the season might play out.
