PHN+ Q&A: Defense Projections, Malkin Future, & Penguins Trade Scenarios

Oh, the Pittsburgh Penguins’ future is rife with uncertainty.

We’ve opened the doors to a special Penguins Q&A segment with PHN+ subscribers as the sole submitters. Monday, we’ll do a Penguins Live Chat with a few more questions and comments from our subs, so check the website for the private link. We’ll go live at 1 p.m. If you’d like to read our prospect analysis and conversations (direct from Wilkes-Barre), our behind-the-scenes stories, and exclusive stories, a PHN+ subscription probably makes a terrible Mother’s Day present, but it’s a pretty good pickup for yourself.

If you’re new and just clicking on this story, use code Dan10 and save $10 off the yearly subscription. PHN probably has the largest base of unique readers in the market, as we generally average at least 200,000 per month, just for hockey. Still, subs keep us on the road and fully staffed, so your participation and support mean everything.

Thank you so much!

The uncertainty regarding the Penguins’ summer is quite refreshing. The cataclysmic signing of (checks notes) Matt Grzelcyk didn’t really move the needle last summer. This summer, it’s going to get hot.

With Sidney Crosby still carrying the team, the horizon always seems much closer. However, after a couple of general manager Kyle Dubas’s press conferences just a week apart, I picked up on a couple of undertones, one of which already came to fruition.

Since this is for our community, I added some background context and may be a little more blunt. Enjoy!
