Pittsburgh Penguins, Alex Nylander

The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned forward Alex Nylander to their farm team in Wilkes-Barre.

Nylander, 25, made a positive impression during his Penguins debut, when he registered an assist in a 5-4 overtime victory against Columbus March 7.

He was sent back to Wilkes-Barre after that game, but missed only one before rejoining the Penguins. Despite being deployed mainly in a middle-six role, Nylander did not get a point in the five games that followed, and was a healthy scratch for the past eight games.

He has 13 goals and 20 assists in 90 NHL games with the Penguins, Chicago and Buffalo.

Nylander is Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s No. 3 scorer in 2022-23, with 25 goals and 25 assists in 54 games.
