Ever Wanted to Live at the Arena? Penguins Unveil Unique Contest

Ok, I will admit it. As a reporter who covers the Pittsburgh Penguins, I come to the arena early for peace and quiet with the hockey rink backdrop. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to roam the concourse, eat anything I wanted, watch hockey, and not be bothered. I’m pretty sure this would be nirvana.

On Wednesday morning the Penguins announced a contest that will give one winner and nine guests much of that nirvana. From the Penguins press release:

This season’s version of the popular ‘Penguins Passport’ promotion will see one lucky fan and nine guests win the exclusive opportunity to win Keys to the Arena and call PPG Paints Arena their home for a day.

The grand prize of a day at PPG Paints Arena will feature customized programming to meet all the wants and needs of the winner, including but not limited to:

• Catered meals
• Behind-the-scenes access
• Meet-and-greets with Penguins alums
• Coors Light Igloo Club happy hour
• A mini dek hockey tournament
• A PensGear shopping spree

The ‘Penguins Passport’ promotion will be held from Wednesday, April 15 – Wednesday, May 26 and is a joint effort of the Penguins and the team’s participating corporate partners.

Participating partners include: Don’s Appliances, Dunkin’, Fifth Season, Mano’s Wine, The Milkshake Factory, Pittsburgh Garage, Planet Fitness, Quaker Steak & Lube, Seven Springs, Southside Works/PensGear, Ticketmaster and Ziebart

Fans can enter and participate in 12 different contests to up their chances to be entered to win the grand prize. The winner of each individual Passport partner sweepstakes will win the associated partner prize and will be deemed a Penguins Passport Holder. These announcements will take place no later than June 8. The grand prize winner will be selected from the 12 Penguins Passport Holders and will be announced on or around June 15.
