Boko Imama, Pittsburgh Penguins

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Boko Imama had surgery to repair a biceps injury, the team announced Saturday. He is expected to have a recovery time of four to six months.

The surgery was performed at UPMC Mercy Hospital by team head physician Dharmesh Vyas. The team did not specify which day the surgery took place.

Imama, 28, had endeared himself some to fans as a rugged winger. He had one point, a goal, in 16 games after spending much of the season at AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He had missed one game because of the injury. It’s not clear how he was hurt.

He is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, meaning his time with the Penguins could be done.
