DETROIT — The Pittsburgh Penguins will give their most prominent veterans another night off when they face Detroit in a preseason game at Little Caesars Arena Tuesday night.

None of their big-name players — guys like Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Erik Karlsson and Kris Letang, among others — were in the lineup for their home-and-way doubleheader with Columbus Sunday, either.

The Penguins, 1-0-1 in exhibition play, plan to take the following group to Tuesday’s game, which is scheduled for 7 p.m.:

FORWARDS — Marc Johnstone, Corey Andonovski, Vinnie Hinostroza, Joona Koppanen, Rem Pitlick, Andreas Johnsson, Sam Poulin, Colin White, Jonathan Gruden, Valtteri Puustinen, Brayden Yager, Radim Zohorna, Avery Hayes.

DEFENSEMEN — Jack St. Ivany, Taylor Fedun, Ryan Shea, Ty Smith, Libor Hajek, Mark Friedman, P.O Joseph, Isaac Belliveau.

GOALIES — Alex Nedeljkovic, Joel Blomqvist.
