Penguins Recall Caggiula From Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Drake Caggiula from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre.

He was signed as a free agent last summer and has appeared in three NHL games this season, recording two shots on goal and no points.

Caggiula, 28, has 12 goals and a team-high 25 assists in 47 games with Wilkes-Barre this season.

He has played in 281 NHL games with Edmonton, Chicago, Arizona, Buffalo and the Penguins, putting up 46 goals and 45 assists. His most productive season was 2017-18, when he had 13 goals and seven assists in 67 games with the Oilers.

Caggiula is expected to be available for the Penguins’ game in Tampa tonight at 7:08.

His promotion was announced by GM Ron Hextall.
