Pittsburgh Penguins Penalty Kill

It was a physical game on Tuesday night, but after a couple of power-play chances on each side, the orange bands let the boys play. The Pittsburgh Penguins scored on their first power-play chance, but Washington was not so lucky.

Rather, the Penguins’ penalty killing was that aggressive.

After plunging to the bottom few teams in the league, the Penguins PK has enjoyed a resurgence in the last two weeks. After Tuesday night, the Penguins have killed 10 of the last 11 chances. The unit was especially aggressive and disruptive on Tuesday.

Washington was 0-for-2, and didn’t get a sniff of the net.

We’ve chopped several Washington zone entry attempts to show what the Penguins did right, from Washington rush to Penguins clear. The Penguins certainly didn’t do much wrong.
