Penguins’ Schedule Released; Sweden, Cali, & the Big Games

As part of a rollout across the NHL on Wednesday, the Pittsburgh Penguins announced their full 2025-26 schedule.
The team’s season opener, Oct. 7 on the road against the New York Rangers, and their home opener, Oct. 9 against the New York Islanders, along with ticket packages information, were announced during the previous 24 hours.
It was also previously announced that the Penguins will return to Stockholm, Sweden, to play two games against the Nashville Predators Nov. 14 and 16 as part of the Global Series.
The upcoming season includes a break for the Winter Olympics in Italy as NHL players return to that international tournament. Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has already been announced for the Team Canada roster for the Games in Milan and Cortina, and Penguins president of hockey operations/general manager Kyle Dubas will serve as Canada’s director of player personnel.
For the Penguins, that means they play a game Feb. 5 at Buffalo and not again until Feb. 26 at home against New Jersey. March is then jam-packed with 17 games, nine of them at home. That includes their longest road trip, five games that start in the East against Carolina, has stops in Vegas, Utah and Colorado, and finishes back East against Carolina again.
Their longest homestand, five games, starts Dec. 9 and includes opponents Anaheim, Montreal, San Jose, Utah and Edmonton.
The Penguins will make their trip to California early, with games at Anaheim, Los Angeles and San Jose in the second full week of the season.
Their annual Thanksgiving Eve home game will be Nov. 26 against Buffalo.
They make their trip through Western Canada in the dead of winter, late January.
The Penguins will face the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers for the first time Oct. 23 on the road.
The season concludes April 14 with a game in St. Louis.
