KANATA, Ontario — The Pittsburgh Penguins (13-14-4) have a chance to get back to .500 after weeks and months of inconsistent performances. The Penguins have won six of eight and are beginning to jell. They will face the charging Ottawa Senators on Saturday at the Canadian Tire Center.

The Penguins’ boat raced the Montreal Canadiens in the third period Thursday at the Bell Center. The Penguins 3-2 lead became a 9-2 win after a six-goal third period. Bryan Rust had a hat trick and four points, and Rickard Rakell had two goals and four points in the win.

Tristan Jarry stopped 21 of 23 but was vital to the win with a stellar performance when the game was in doubt.

Ottawa might have some tired legs, but they neatly contained the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh Friday. Shane Pinto scored two goals, and Nick Jensen scored the other. Linus Ullmark posted the 32-save shutout.

Ottawa has won four of their last five games after frustration and debunked trade rumors surfaced.

Ottawa will likely turn to Anton Forsberg as the second of back-to-back games. The Penguins will likely stick with Tristan Jarry, who is on a roll, winning five of his last six starts.
