(UPDATED) Penguins Game 60, Bully Brawl; Lines, Notes, & How to Watch vs. Flyers

PHILADELPHIA — The Pittsburgh Penguins (23-27-9) let a pair of games slip away over the weekend and have fallen to next to last place in the Eastern Conference. There are seven teams between the Penguins and a playoff berth, as well as their seven-point gap and additional games played. One of the teams between the Penguins and getting back into the playoff hunt is the rival Philadelphia Flyers (25-26-7).
The Penguins visit the Flyers at Wells Fargo Center Tuesday. The puck drops just after 7 p.m.
The Penguins thoroughly outplayed and out-chanced the New York Rangers on Sunday, but they could not net the important goals before their mistakes became goals-against. In the second period, the Penguins outshot the Rangers 26-5 but trailed 2-1.

The Penguins tied the game at 2-2 and 3-3, but despite the superior play, they never led and lost 5-3.
Coach Mike Sullivan inserted Defenseman Ryan Shea into the lineup over recently acquired Vincent Desharnais and promptly scored his first two goals of the season. One was a good rip from the slot, the other was a gift has his floating shot caromed of a defender’s leg into the net.
Evgeni Malkin scored the other Penguins goal Sunday, his second goal in two games. Rookie goalie Joel Blomqvist had a rough game, stopping 11 of 15 shots.
Beginning tonight, the Penguins have 23 games remaining and an Eastern Conference worst -44 goals against.
The Flyers won their first game out of the two-week Four Nations break. They enjoyed a blowout win over the Edmonton Oilers 6-3 Saturday. Owen Tippet scored a pair of goals, and super rookie Matvei Michkov scored a goal with two assists. Team Sweden goalie Samuel Ersson stopped 15 of 18 in the win.
The Flyers are five points back of a playoff spot and have played one more game.
Penguins coach Mike Sullivan will announce his starting goalie at the morning skate around noon. Bryan Rust missed the last two games due to illness.
