Penguins Preseason Game 2; Lineup & How to Watch

The Pittsburgh Penguins (0-0-1), fresh from their energetic performance Monday in Montreal, will play their second straight road preseason game when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday at Nationwide Arena.
The puck drops at 7 p.m.
Five of the players who were in Monday’s lineup will get another shot to impress coach Dan Muse, including first-round pick Ben Kindel. The Penguins are giving the 11th overall selection a healthy dose of camp before they likely return him to junior hockey.
The other players returning to the lineup are in heated battles for roster spots. Tristan Broz, Filip Hallander, Atley Calvert, and defenseman Connor Clifton will get another whirl.
Broz was especially good on Monday, and another solid performance could be his ticket to the NHL lineup. Clifton is expected to be on the roster, but his role could be third-pairing right-side defenseman or seventh D.

Two more defensemen who are battling for a roster spot will play: Caleb Jones and Jack St. Ivany. Each has a very different game as St. Ivany is a physical right-side D-man and Jones is a strong skating lefty. Jones has been strong in the practices as they’ve emphasized skating.
Penguins fans will also get their first look at goalie Arturs Sikovs, who will share the net with Filip Larsson.
Transaction: The Penguins made their first cut of camp, sending fifth-round pick Travis Hayes back to the Soo Greyhounds.

I really like seeing all the young and new players in these early lineups. Some players like Broz are showing they deserve a longer look and will be pushing hard to make the NHL roster. Veterans can’t rely on their reputation this year and will have to prove they deserve to be on the roster. That’s especially true if Dubas hold to his word and close calls go to the youth movement.
I hope Hals has a good game.
I was hoping Novak would play. Guess not.
Did anyone see how the scrimmage went this morning.
Yes. It wasn’t much to analyze, the guys were at 80%
