Penguins Roster 1st Preseason Game; Top Prospects and Tryouts

Pittsburgh Penguins coach Dan Muse is loading up his first preseason game roster with the top prospects and a handful of genuine contenders to swipe a roster spot when the Penguins visit the Montreal Canadiens on Monday.
In a sign of the Penguins’ youth transition, the roster will be competitive, which is a departure from previous years’ preseason road games.
Also, as a little bonus, Muse is also taking former Canadiens forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard to Montreal to face his former team. PHN has graded Harvey-Pinard well in camp.
The Penguins’ top forward prospects, Ben Kindel, Tristan Broz, and Avery Hayes, will travel to Montreal. PTO signing Robby Fabbri will also play.
However, the only NHL regular in the lineup will be Tommy Novak.
On defense, Muse is taking a deep squad to Montreal, including top prospects Owen Pickering, Harrison Brunicke, and Finn Harding. Ryan Shea, Ryan Graves, Matt Dumba, and Connor Clifton will also go to Montreal.
PHN will update the story on Monday if Muse announces who will be the healthy scratches.
In goal, Muse is taking Sergei Murashov and Joel Blomqvist.
