(PHN) — The Pittsburgh Penguins training camp is just a couple weeks away. The rookie tournament is in Buffalo, next weekend. Players such as Jack Johnson and Jake Guentzel were already on the ice at the Penguins Lemieux UPMC practice facility in Cranberry Township.

Hockey is coming.

Today via Twitter, the Penguins posted a glorious photo for waiting eyes: The ice sheet at PPG Paints Arena is ready.

The Penguins have apparently added a few sponsors to the ice surface, as well. In addition to McDonalds, Dicks, and UPMC at center ice, the corners now have sponsors. PHN believes the home corner could be FedEx. PHN is unable to discern the sponsors in the visitor’s end.

Training camp begins Friday, Sept. 14 at UPMC Lemieux. On September 18, the Penguins will play their first preseason game, in Buffalo.

The Penguins will open their first regular season in three years without the Stanley Cup on Oct. 4, when they host the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals at PPG Paints Arena.
