Penguins Injury Update: McGinn Skates, Return Not Imminent (+)

Consider this the news you missed on Monday as the NHL trade deadline sucked the air out of the room, and all eyes were fixed upon the 32-GM battle royal. Eventually, the Pittsburgh Penguins snagged Rickard Rakell of the Anaheim Ducks just before the 3 p.m. deadline but had to sacrifice a pair of productive fourth-liners.

The Penguins included Dominik Simon, Zach Aston-Reese, a prospect, and a second-round pick for Rakell.

However, the news was lost in the shuffle early Monday morning: Brock McGinn hit the ice with fellow injured winger Jason Zucker. However, McGinn was clearly not at 100%. The winger worked on skills and skating with skills coach Ty Hennes but did so one-handed, including shooting drills.

McGinn held his stick almost exclusively with his left hand. See the video:
