There’s a balance that Pittsburgh Penguins coach Mike Sullivan would seem to need to strike with his lineup as the Pittsburgh Penguins go through the final month of the season.
The Penguins have several young and new players whose play could still be evaluated by the team, as decisions might need to be made involving them. There’s value in that, and there won’t be any playoffs to continue to sort things out. But Sullivan’s basic instinct as a coach, as he has outlined many times, is to put the most competitive lineup on the ice. What if those two things clash some?
