Penguins Skate: Marcus Pettersson Joins Team, Power Play Wrinkle (+)

NEWARK — Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan confirmed Sunday that his injured defensemen skated in the morning before the afternoon game against the Philadelphia Flyers and offered a succinct answer if any of them could join the team before the end of the season.
“Yes,” Sullivan said with a nod without saying more.
Defenseman Jan Rutta joined the practice last week in a non-contact sweater and remained in a non-contact sweater Tuesday as he joined the morning skate.
The new development was lanky d-man Marcus Pettersson, who is on LTIR, joining the team for the first time.
