It feels weird not putting a dateline on a story for two whole days. The Pittsburgh Penguins are at home tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs before another road trip begins on Thursday in Minnesota. And yes, PHN will be there every step of the way through the Twin Cities, Winnipeg, and Chicago. Jason Zucker and Brock McGinn have been big reasons for the three-game points streak. Dave Molinari chastised the NHL for the (lack of) enforcement of its rules. Is Mike Hoffman, instead of Josh Anderson, available on the NHL trade block? The Washington Capitals are getting frustrated and angry with their game, and we have complete Hockey Hall of Fame coverage.

I haven’t unpacked from the last road trip yet! I’m getting a crash course on hockey travel — and learning from Dave that sometimes a grocery store hoagie and a nap is the best. I have thus far avoided boredom, the spin monster, and things that attract it. When I travel, it’s cheap and easy, or just cheap.

I am so looking forward to December and the home dates.

Pittsburgh Penguins / Steelers, Pirates:

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: The Penguins have nine defensemen. The Ottawa Senators need a defenseman. The Penguins have a few needs which Ottawa could meet. Does a Senators-Penguins trade fit?

Just imagine what could happen if the league protected players against headshots. Dave Molinari writes it’s time to change the rules and protect players with real enforcement from the NHL Department of Player Safety.

PHN+: “I hated the game last year.” It was a brutal slog and mental grind last season — the biggest surprise and contributor to the Penguins team game this season is Jason Zucker.

Score. Win. Repeat. We see you, Brock McGinn.

Pittsburgh Baseball Now (+): John Perrotto doesn’t spare feelings. It’s hard to catch Ben Cherrington’s thinking. Pittsburgh Pirates analysis.

Steelers Now: You did it — T.J. Watt had full-body chills from the Pittsburgh Steelers crowd.

NHL Trade Speculation, News & National Hockey Now:

TSN: If you missed them, here are all the Hall of Fame speeches and stories from the Sedin twins, Daniel Alfredsson and Roberto Luongo. Hockey Hall of Fame.

Washington Hockey Now: The Capitals are getting frustrated. Lars Eller called the team’s effort “horsesh*t.” Coach Peter Laviolette is making changes. Washington Capitals trouble.

Montreal Hockey Now: Josh Anderson has been linked to the Calgary Flames in NHL trade rumors, but what about Mike Hoffman instead?

Sportsnet: Tonight’s Pittsburgh Penguins opponent, the Toronto Maple Leafs, will be without Jake Muzzin for most or all of the season after he suffered a spine injury. What will they do without him?

Boston Hockey Now: A pretty good scrap with AJ Greer and Vasily Podkolzin. It certainly sparked the Boston Bruins.

Vegas: The Golden Knights’ reverse retro jerseys glow in the dark. And William Karlsson won’t take it off. Vegas Golden Knights hilarity.

I sure hope they are building a fan base in Las Vegas. The marketing folks are the best in the business. And I can’t wait for the January trip to Vegas.

Detroit: The stock index for the Red Wings. Buying, selling, and signing. Whose stock is trending for the Detroit Red Wings?

LA Hockey Now: The win streak is OVER. The LA Kings lost to the Calgary Flames 6-5.

Calgary Hockey Now: Winner! Guess what? The Calgary Flames beat the LA Kings 6-5.

Dallas Hockey Now: The Dallas Stars won, but the morning after deals with Little Joe. The Joe Pavelski appreciation post.
