PHN Postgame: Kessel Shines, 3 Takeaways from Penguins Win

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins shined when it mattered. The battle-tested Penguins taught the up and coming Detroit Red Wings a few things en route to a 4-1 win at PPG Paints Arena. The win secured the Penguins a playoff berth for the 13th consecutive season.

Dan’s takeaways include thoughts on Phil Kessel who also spoke after the game. You can read the story and watch Kessel’s video here.

Matt Muray and Sidney Crosby also showed well Thursday night.

The Penguins could still achieve second place and home ice if they beat the New York Rangers and the New York Islanders lose in regulation. Even if the teams tied at 101 points and 42 ROWs, the Penguins would likely win the tiebreaker because they have a greater goals against differential.
