WINNIPEG — The first PHN+ Q&A of the season was short on optimism and heavy with salt. Fans are not happy with the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-3-0 record, or more specifically, the factors that have delivered the current situation.

The current situation is a starting goalie who has lost his mojo, a rookie goalie who may or may not be ready to assume that mantle, lineup decisions that have produced offense on some nights but problems on others, and general frustration.

Despite the short notice, we received over 40 submissions in 24 hours.

As you might imagine, coach Mike Sullivan and goalie Tristan Jarry were hot topics. But we received a few unique questions, too. For our subscribers, these are no-holds-barred answers. No sugar, no varnish. But I do ask that they be kept behind the curtain. I wouldn’t answer some of the questions in public.
