Penguins
It’s Penguins Picture Day–Say, ‘Stanley Cup!’
The Pittsburgh Penguins moved their Friday practice to PPG Paints Arena and it didn’t take long to figure out why. PHN reporter extraordinaire Shelly Anderson cracked the code when the Penguins set up a stage and the team appeared in full uniform.
Shelly got a few pictures of her own, too.
Believe it or not, a hockey team picture is a big deal. It often has the same excitement as fourth grade picture day when mom made sure you dressed up and reminded you, like 500 times, to smile this time instead of the goofy Jack Black look you gave last year.
Of course, Lucho Libre was a good movie but I digress.

At practice, Evgeni Malkin was in a white non-contact jersey. It appears Freddy Gaudreau joined the team in a non-contact jersey, too.
If you’ve ever wondered about the setup, Shelly has a picture of that, too.
The Penguins have won three of their last four games and climbed to second place in the MassMutual East Division. They waxed the New Jersey Devils 5-1 on Thursday night. Sidney Crosby was one of five Pittsburgh Penguins with two points (1g, 1a).
Shelly will have more from practice including an injury update. The Penguins’ magic number to clinch a playoff berth is eight points.Â
